Position Overview :
The Leadman serves as an intermediary between the labor force and management, overseeing a team of workers in either a production or construction setting. This role is instrumental in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and up to quality standards. The Leadman is responsible for directing work activities, coordinating with other departments, and managing resources.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise a team of workers, delegating tasks and responsibilities as needed.
- Monitor the quality and progress of work to ensure that projects meet specifications and deadlines.
- Assist the Foreman in planning and scheduling work activities.
- Train new hires and provide guidance to team members to develop their skills.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols, conducting safety briefings as required.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure that resources are available for the timely completion of tasks.
- Assist in the preparation of progress and performance reports.
- Act as a point of contact for issues and conflicts within the team.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in production or construction.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand technical specifications.
- Proficient in basic computer applications and software related to the industry.
- Must pass a background check and any other relevant screenings.
