Job Description : Assistant Buyer

Department: Procurement / Purchasing

Reports To: Senior Buyer / Purchasing Manager

Employment Status: Full-Time

Compensation: $45,000 – $60,000 per annum, depending on experience and location


Position Overview :

The Assistant Buyer is a crucial part of the purchasing department, providing support in acquiring goods and services for the organization. This role involves a range of tasks, such as vendor management, order placement, and data analysis, all aimed at optimizing procurement operations.


Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist in the sourcing and evaluation of potential suppliers.
  • Work closely with the Senior Buyer to prepare and issue purchase orders.
  • Monitor order statuses, ensuring timely delivery and resolving any issues with suppliers.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, pricing, and product availability.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate records related to pricing, delivery, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their procurement needs.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience in procurement or a related area.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of procurement software is a plus.
