Position Overview :
The Material Handler plays a pivotal role within the warehouse team, ensuring the seamless flow of materials through various stages of operations. This professional ensures that goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently, maintaining the integrity and timeliness of the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities :
- Receiving Shipments: Efficiently unload deliveries, cross-checking the contents against invoices or order forms to ensure accuracy.
- Stocking & Organizing: Position goods in the storage areas, using space best and ensuring easy access.
- Picking Orders: Accurately select the appropriate items from storage for dispatch using handheld scanners or picking lists.
- Packaging: Prepare items for shipment or dispatch, ensuring they’re securely packed and labeled.
- Maintaining Equipment: Operate machinery such as forklifts, ensuring regular checks and maintenance routines are followed.
- Inventory Control: Conduct periodic stock checks, ensuring accurate records and reporting discrepancies.
- Safety Compliance: Follow company policies and regulatory guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent. A certificate in warehouse operations is a plus.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.
- Forklift certification or willingness to be trained.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Physical stamina and lifting capability, typically up to 50 lbs.
- A keen eye for detail and commitment to accuracy.
