Compensation: $20,000 – $30,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications


Position Overview :

The Instructional Assistant plays a supportive role in the classroom, assisting the teacher in creating a positive and effective learning environment. This position focuses on aiding the teacher with instructional activities and facilitating student engagement, enabling an optimal learning experience for all students.


Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities.
  • Work with small groups of students to reinforce material taught in the classroom.
  • Observe student behavior and performance, providing feedback to the teacher.
  • Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays as directed.
  • Help manage classroom behavior by employing school-approved disciplinary methods.
  • Support students with special needs by implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and supervise students during non-instructional times, such as lunch or recess.
  • Maintain accurate records related to student attendance and performance.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is a plus.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience and a genuine passion for working with students.
  • Must pass a background check, child abuse clearance, and other required screenings.
