Compensation: $40,000 – $55,000 per annum, depending on experience and location
Position Overview :
The Housing Specialist is an integral part of the Housing Services team, assisting individuals and families in finding stable, affordable housing solutions. This role involves case management, liaison with landlords and housing agencies, and navigating housing laws and subsidies.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assess housing needs and eligibility for various housing programs for clients.
- Develop and maintain relationships with landlords and property managers to secure housing options.
- Assist clients in filling out housing applications and preparing for interviews.
- Manage caseloads, maintain accurate records, and adhere to program regulations.
- Collaborate with social service agencies, legal services, and other community partners to ensure comprehensive support.
- Conduct home visits and housing inspections to ensure safe and suitable living conditions.
- Educate clients on tenant rights and responsibilities.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in housing services, case management, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local housing laws, subsidies, and programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
