Position Overview :
The Community Organizer plays a crucial role in driving community engagement and facilitating social change. This position focuses on rallying community members around common causes, coordinating events, and creating opportunities for dialogue and action.
Key Responsibilities :
- Identify community needs and issues through surveys, meetings, and direct engagement with residents.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for community mobilization and social change.
- Organize events, workshops, and community meetings to raise awareness and promote involvement.
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, and local officials.
- Collaborate with nonprofits, government agencies, and local businesses to leverage resources for community betterment.
- Create and distribute materials such as flyers, newsletters, and social media posts to promote community events and causes.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Political Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in community organizing or a similar role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in diverse environments.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Must pass a background check and other required screenings.
