Compensation: $100,000 – $200,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications


Position Overview :

The Chief Development Officer (CDO) serves a strategic leadership role and is accountable for all fundraising and development activities. This senior position focuses on increasing revenue streams, building long-term relationships with donors and stakeholders, and advancing the organization’s mission.


Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the organization’s objectives and mission.
  • Lead the development team, setting performance metrics and ensuring that fundraising goals are met or exceeded.
  • Identify, cultivate, and secure financial support from individual donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
  • Oversee grant application processes, including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, donors, and community leaders.
  • Work closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to provide updates and strategic direction for fundraising efforts.

Qualifications :

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful fundraising, including major gifts, capital campaigns, and grant writing.
  • Exceptional leadership and managerial skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with donor databases and fundraising software.
