Job Summary :
The Camp Director provides visionary leadership and is responsible for the planning, execution, and management of all camp activities, staff, and resources. They ensure a safe, educational, and fun environment for all campers, aligning the camp’s programs with its mission and values.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership & Management :
- Lead, train, and manage camp staff, ensuring they are equipped to fulfill their roles.
- Establish clear communication channels between staff, campers, and parents.
Program Development & Execution :
- Plan, develop, and oversee the execution of diverse camp programs that cater to the interests and needs of the campers.
- Regularly assess and adapt programs based on feedback and the evolving needs of the camp community.
Safety & Compliance :
- Ensure that all camp activities and operations adhere to safety guidelines and regulations.
- Regularly review and update safety protocols, conducting drills and training sessions for staff.
Budgeting & Financial Management :
- Develop and oversee the camp’s annual budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality.
Marketing & Outreach :
- Collaborate with marketing teams to promote the camp to potential attendees.
- Build and maintain relationships with local communities, schools, and other organizations for partnerships and sponsorships.
Facility Management :
- Oversee the maintenance, cleanliness, and safety of all camp facilities and equipment.
- Plan and execute necessary renovations or improvements.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Recreation Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in camp management or a related leadership role.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Master’s Degree in a related field.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
