Compensation: $15 – $25 per hour plus gratuities, depending on experience and location
Position Overview :
The Banquet Captain is a leader within the banquet team, coordinating the logistics and execution of events ranging from weddings to corporate gatherings. This role involves overseeing banquet staff, liaising with clients, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise and coordinate banquet staff, providing clear instructions and guidance.
- Act as the main point of contact between the banquet team and clients during events.
- Inspect event setup to ensure it meets client specifications and departmental standards.
- Manage event timelines, ensuring all activities start and end as planned.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely and accurate service.
- Handle guest complaints and issues professionally, escalating to higher management if necessary.
- Assist in the training and development of new banquet staff.
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in banquet services or event management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
