Reports To: Activities Manager / Recreation Director
Employment Status: Full-Time / Part-Time
Compensation: $14 – $22 per hour, depending on experience and location
Position Overview :
The Activity Coordinator is a pivotal member of the recreational services team, responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a range of activities for participants. This role aims to enhance social interaction, physical well-being, and overall engagement among participants, whether they are students, seniors, or residents of a community.
Key Responsibilities :
- Plan and implement a diverse calendar of activities, such as games, crafts, outings, and special events.
- Conduct needs assessments to understand participants’ interests and preferences.
- Monitor attendance, participant engagement, and feedback to continually improve programming.
- Liaise with external vendors or entertainers when coordinating special events.
- Ensure all activities are conducted safely, adhering to established guidelines and protocols.
- Promote activities through various channels such as newsletters, social media, and community boards.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and provide regular updates to management.
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or GED; a degree in recreation management or related field is a plus.
- Prior experience in event planning, recreational services, or similar roles.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation.
- First Aid and CPR certifications are desirable.
