Job Description : Development Coordinator

Department: Development & Fundraising

Reports To: Director of Development

Employment Status: Full-Time

Compensation: $45,000 – $70,000 annually (depending on location, experience, and industry)


Position Overview :

The Development Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fundraising and development activities for the organization. With a focus on ensuring operational excellence and cultivating relationships, the role is integral to the financial well-being and growth of the organization.


Key Responsibilities :

  1. Fundraising: Assist in strategizing and executing fundraising campaigns, including online, direct mail, events, and major gifts.
  2. Database Management: Maintain and update the donor database, ensuring records’ accuracy, processing gifts, and generating acknowledgment letters.
  3. Event Coordination: Support the planning, organization, and execution of fundraising and donor-appreciation events.
  4. Communications: Create compelling donor communications, including newsletters, emails, and annual reports.
  5. Research: Identify potential grant opportunities and assist in the grant application process, including writing and submitting proposals.
  6. Budgeting: Monitor fundraising budgets, ensure resources are used effectively, and report on ROI for various initiatives.
  7. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including marketing and public relations, to align fundraising efforts with broader organizational strategies.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Nonprofit Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in donor databases, preferably in platforms like Raiser’s Edge or Salesforce.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-driven environment.
