Position Overview :
The Shop Foreman serves as the primary operational leader in a manufacturing or repair setting. He is responsible for supervising staff, managing workflows, and ensuring that safety and quality standards are met. This role involves administrative duties and hands-on work, requiring a balanced skill set of leadership and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee day-to-day operations in the shop, including staff supervision, workload distribution, and project management.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and company procedures.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide guidance to team members.
- Coordinate with the Operations Manager for resource allocation, including staffing and materials.
- Monitor production timelines and adjust workflows to meet deadlines.
- Perform employee evaluations, provide mentorship, and engage in conflict resolution as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in a related technical field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, including supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of the specific industry, including relevant tools, technologies, and best practices.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
